Rudolph Phone: (410) 658-2808 Delegate Rudolph Honored as Maryland Association of Resources for Families & Youth Outstanding Legislator of the Year Delegate David Rudolph (D-Cecil) was honored in Annapolis January 17 as Legislator of Year by the Maryland Association of Resources for Families & Youth at their annual legislative reception. Delegate Rudolph was presented with a plaque by Jim McComb, executive director of MARFY stating that Rudolph was recognized for his "distinguished leadership and for making a difference in the lives of Maryland's children, youth and families." "Delegate Rudolph was chosen for this award for his leadership efforts to ensure passage of legislation on behalf of children. During the years I have advocated for children in Annapolis, I do not recall a time when a legislator acted more unselfishly in pursuing a legislative victory for children, their families and their communities," said McComb. "I am honored to have been selected as Legislator of the Year by an organization committed to improving the lives of Maryland children and families. It has been a pleasure to work in Annapolis with MARFY and other organizations and I look forward to continuing those efforts during the 2006 legislative session," said Rudolph. MARFY is a statewide association of nonprofit child and family private sector services agencies providing services through nearly two-hundred programs across Maryland. It is dedicated to providing responsive, high quality, culturally competent services to children and youth who need special care, treatment, education and training; and to support a broadly shared commitment to strengthening families. This is the second honor recognizing Delegate Rudolph=s legislative leadership efforts. Delegate Rudolph was also honored as the AOutstanding Rural Legislator@ for 2005 by the Rural Maryland Council. back to press releases |
